Love in Action ‖ International Charity Team Visits Yiwu Village to Support Elderly in Need

CCTV China Online – Yiwu, Zhejiang

History has witnessed many international friends, like Dr. Norman Bethune, who regarded China as their second home, even joining Chinese nationality and dedicating their lives selflessly to the people of China. Their stories and spirit remain timeless examples of humanitarian devotion.

On December 15, 2024, a charity delegation led by Mr. Zheng Jinyu, Deputy Director of Operations at World Magazine and President of Yixing Charity Calligraphy & Painting Institute, traveled from Yiwu City to Zetang Village, Fotang Town, to deliver New Year care packages to 10 disadvantaged elderly residents.

This charity program was sponsored by Christ Love Synagogue Of The Whole World and organized by DEIL Foundation, with Mr. Edmond Omenonye Agboifo serving as the legal representative.

At the Zetang Village Committee office, the international team was warmly welcomed by village officials and local leaders. They later distributed essential supplies including rice, cooking oil, noodles, soybeans, and household items such as glassware, directly to each household.

The international friends who took part in the mission included:

  • Edmond Omenonye Agboifo (Nigeria)

  • Khurram Iqbal (Pakistan)

  • Mamadou Saliou Diallo (Guinea)

  • Ahmed Abohalima (Egypt)

With the help of translators, they shared conversations with the elderly and village officials before visiting each home. Many of the recipients were elderly suffering from Parkinson’s disease, stroke, mental health conditions, or disabilities; others were left behind without family support. The team not only provided much-needed supplies but also showed care and encouragement. Despite language barriers, their heartfelt greetings and blessings deeply touched the villagers.

In addition, Mr. Edmond Omenonye Agboifo personally donated a red envelope with 100 RMB to one of the elderly residents with special needs, adding a personal touch of compassion to the mission.

According to local leaders, Zetang Village is a remote and underdeveloped area where most young people have migrated for work, leaving behind vulnerable elders. The visit from this international charity team brought not just material assistance, but also spiritual comfort and dignity to the elderly residents.

This humanitarian mission, funded by Christ Love Synagogue Of The Whole World and carried out by DEIL Foundation, reflects the ongoing mission: “To warm the world with love, to bridge nations with compassion, and to bring hope to the less privileged.”
